About Jennifer

Jen’s Story

In my adolescence, I was in a school bus accident that resulted in multiple soft tissue injuries to my  face, neck, and shoulder. Rather than having a carefree childhood, I was having to go from one doctor appointment to another, missing school and missing out on participating in normal childhood activities.  Despite years of physical therapy, medical massage, and pain medications aimed at managing my pain and inflammation, I continued to suffer from daily migraines, facial twitching, and a reduced range of motion in my shoulder, and was not provided any other solution.

My symptoms continued to be present throughout undergrad, making sitting in class and studying long hours extremely difficult.  I had to take the bus 40 mins each way to go to physical therapy and doctors appointments weekly, while finding time to attend class, study and work part time. It wasn’t until a friend recommended a herbal supplement that I started to feel hopeful; I had tried over 20 different migraine medications without success and this one herbal supplement reduced my daily migraines in half.  This experience ignited my curiosity in alternative medicine and supplements.  When looking for a practitioner locally, I came across Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture, which ultimately sparked my interest to pursue a career in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Throughout school, I witnessed firsthand the remarkable effects of acupuncture and Chinese medicine. With consistent acupuncture sessions, along with lifestyle and dietary changes, I was able to eliminate my need for pain medication, completely stopping my facial twitching, effectively managing my migraines, and regained full mobility in my shoulder.

My own personal transformation fuels my passion to advocate for this medicine, emphasizing the profound benefits it can offer, both big and small. I believe that empowering individuals with knowledge about their health can lead to transformative changes in their lives, just like it did for me.
